A dazie conversation has two halves: the conversation itself, and what dazie does with it afterwards.

During the conversation

dazie listens and responds in real time. It is designed to ask more than it talks. Most of its turns are a single question that either goes deeper on what you just said (“what made that hard?”) or connects it to something you mentioned before (“is this the same project you were stuck on last week?”). It won’t lecture, diagnose or give unrequested advice. If you ask for its view, it will give one.

After the conversation

When you end the conversation, dazie:
  1. Writes your entry. The transcript becomes a readable journal entry in the first person, keeping your phrasing where it matters.
  2. Extracts insights. Recurring themes, mood, energy and the things you return to. See Insights and patterns.
  3. Updates memory. New people, projects, goals and events get stored so future conversations can refer to them. See Memory.
  4. Captures follow-ups. Anything you said you’d do becomes a follow-up. See Follow-ups.

What dazie is not

dazie is a reflection tool, not a therapist or a medical service. If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency number or a crisis line.
